Das Grosse Amiga Jahrbuch 1987

This was a one-off encyclopedia published in germany containing an extensive list of software for the Amiga computer, in time for the launch of the A500 and A2000.

It's interesting to see how they varied between printing actual screenshots and some sort of direct prints, which look extremely pixelated.

This variation was published in a book and adds a couple of elements not present in the original.
It is also mirrored horizontally, which becomes apparent when you notice that the disk drive on the A1000 is shown on the left side, when it should belong on the right side.

First, I drew a grid that would be a guide for my color-cycling landscape, and used several shades of tan all in the same row on my palette, so when I cycled them, the ground would appear to move.

Then, I added the mountains to the back-ground, far in the distance, so they wouldn't interfere with the illusion of movement.

Next I traced the hotdog from my sketchbook onto the screen, and laid in the basic colors using the Fill option. Then I used a single-pixel brush to create shading and reflections.

After about an hour or so of tweaking and fine-tuning, the image was finished - just in time to get home for dinner.

This is probably just a scan with some custom coloring, so the only reason for including it was that it was printed in the Amiga Book.

Weird for its inclusion in an Amiga book is that the keyboard looks suspiciously like an Atari ST.
